MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of Independent Family
Services to provide supportive services to families in an environment that promotes learning and understanding so that children
may remain reasonably safe and families may live independently.
PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
THE IFS PHILOSOPHY
OF HELPING CHILDREN & FAMILIES IS BASED ON A NUMBER OF IMPORTANT PRINCIPLES
· Every child and family is unique
with special strengths and challenges, so we individualize our services to build on their strengths and resolve their challenges. · We
never give up on kids and their families - no matter how difficult the problem, no matter how serious the issue, we do our
best to make a positive difference in each child's life. · Parents play an important role in the treatment process.
We are a 'family friendly' program that will involve the whole family to develop solutions and strategies that work for them.
We also place an emphasis on providing services within a child's own community and building community supports for families.
· IFS will always develop treatment methods and ways of providing service that work effectively and efficiently for
children and families · Quick response - we've set a benchmark to start providing service no more than 30 days after
a referral is made - and if a child or family is in crisis, we will do our best to get help immediately. · We believe
that independence for a family is achievable through the ability of parents to understand and accept their role as providers,
as teachers and as protectors of their children. We also believe that community support building is the cornerstone of independence
that will lead to healthier and safer communities and families.
VISION STATEMENT
It is the vision of
Independent Family Services that children and families are able to live in a stable and safe community that provides services
in a collaborative effort and allows the cycle of abuse and neglect to be ended.
